Who is Home Range Ranch

Who is Home Range Ranch

What began as a hobby back in 2024 has now turned into a vibrant and rewarding business. It began while on maternity leave when I was gifted a beginner's Brother sewing machine by my mother in law, Diana. Never having an interest in sewing, or quilts, I was left wondering what I would do with this new piece of equipment I feared would become added clutter.

While scrolling instagram during an evening feed, I found myself drawn to jackets being made by sewing brands Small Museum and LaRae Handmade. Better yet, they sold their patterns and even offered beginners youtube tutorials.

Paired with my love for antiquing I set out looking for a quilt I could turn into a jacket for my daughter, Belle, who became my first and original Ranch Girl. Diana helped me cut and piece my first jacket and the rest is now Home Range Ranch history.

Over the course of the last two years I have fine tuned my skills in creating garments from quilts, nothing more. Through this I excel in understanding the draping and visual spacing of antique and vintage textiles which help elevate a look from simply being handmade, to intentional and sophisticated quilted styling. The quilts I use have lasted decades to over a century and I take deep pride in continuing to preserve the quality of the original piece.

The quilts are our American history telling the story of the time or of an individual. Created by an artist over the course of months to years, and repurposed for an modern day person who values slow, intentional fashion and customizing to their unique aesthetic.

Having customized over 100 quilted jackets in the past year, I look forward to the future of Home Range Ranch, continuing to preserve our history through quilts, and doing my part in shifting the fashion industry from short term choices to intentional lasting design.
